3DS Max Tutorial : Importing a Character into Unreal Tournament 3

September 6, 2010 Filed Under: 3DS Max, Game Development

This tutorial is aimed at people wanting to import a character into Unreal Tournament 3 without having to worry (as much) about all the hiccups along the way. I have tried to make this tutorial quite clear in regards to the steps needed as well as the potential problems youmay find along the way (there are a lot of them) in order to improve your chances of getting a character in game.
A basic to intermediate knowledge of 3D Studio MAX and the Unreal Tournament 3 Editor is required. I don’t point out EVERYTHING, but I try to explain it clearly enough so that you can find it easily enough. This tutorial is based on 3D Studio MAX, however you could translate a lot of the information across to other programs as long as you get the end results from the 3D program including the restrictions noted within this document.
